What do you feel like doing today?
Skiing
Imagine carving the first tracks in the snow on a freshly groomed ski slope as the sun warms your face in the cool winter air. Powder snow, mogul pistes, modern lifts, and broad runs for all levels – all this awaits you in the sunny and snow-sure skiing area of Reinswald. Experienced skiers can opt for the European Cup slope Pichlberg-Plankenhorn with a length of 3.7km and a 900m elevation difference. For those learning to ski for the first time, the ski schools in the area offer ski lessons to teach you the fundamentals.
Winter and snowshoe hiking
Stroll mindfully through the deep snow-covered winter landscape, wearing winter boots on cleared winter hiking trails or snowshoe-clad as you walk across glistening powder snow. In no time at all, you can reach rustic Alpine huts and impressive vantage points, enjoy the incredible peace and harmony of the unique South Tyrolean mountains and a cosy stop at a warm mountain hut. You will have plenty of time to admire the stunning mountain panorama at a leisurely pace.
Tobogganing
South Tyrol’s most beloved sport is, without a doubt, tobogganing. Hike through deep snow-covered forests up to an Alpine hut, where you can enjoy heart-warming drinks and homemade delicacies, before you zip back down to the valley. If you love to feel the wind in your hair, the many toboggan runs here in Sarntal offer exciting descents surrounded by unique nature. The toboggan run at the Reinswald skiing area is record-breaking, covering a distance of 4.5km from Pichlberg Alm (2,150m) to the valley station. You can use the ski lift to get to the top, and toboggans are available for hire from the ski rental shop.
PS: If you want to improve your technique, pay a visit to the local toboggan school.
Alpaca trekking
Have you ever set out on a hike with a fluffy alpaca? Unlike an excursion on horseback, the focus is placed on going at a leisurely pace. This allows you to enjoy and appreciate the colours and scents even more.
